thanks for posting these. I think the last time I ran into her out here was about that year..
didn't know who rick owens was back then, though I don't imagine that many people did.
there was a slightly more raw quality to the work back then, one which i'm able to relate to
a bit more than his output of late, though it is nice to see someone able to persist creatively
for as long as he has now managed to. given how exhaustive the process of consistently
delivering creative output and production living up to it on a regular schedule, that seems
at times like some kind of a minor miracle. or an ordeal i would not wish upon even those i'm not fond of.

united arrows had been carrying his womens stuff in those days, before 2003. so carpe customers happened to get to see it. though the store never sold it next to cdiem. it felt light, thin, dry. almost tanned surume, fallen leaf or weathered bandage. it was tender. but its tenderness was not as lack of strength. it was about the aesthetics of fragility.

a few more from los angeles 2003 january
inspiration sources/design resources for his clothes
private soundtrack
the piano only there visually no musical purpose

I've been trying to ballpark this jacket for a while:

Looks like Trucker/Suckerball is a possibility. There are two closures, a wide metal hook with a couple threads of yarn to grab hold of.

i would like this video to be in the thread also:

phpBB [video]

funny that this collection should actually take up the majority of what has been shared in this thread, but of course it's also exactly appropriate. a lot that came later or much later just feels irrelevant to the conversation.
