Anyone on Unwoven interested in this sort of thing? I'm going apartment hunting soon and really thinking about finding somewhere that would accommodate a Vitsœ 606 Universal Shelving System well. Anyone have any experience with Vitsœ stuff? Seems really cool that they do free consultation and design each system based on your space and requirements.

Some pictures to kick off the thread:

it's interesting to have a clean, minimalist interior juxtaposed with more chaotic but warmer ones. I have completely ambiguous feelings towards both: on the one hand, order helps my mind to relax and focus; on the other hand, i easily get an aversion towards too clean, too ordered places, as if cleaning and ordering create direct associations of time wasting... or if i see books sorted according to colors, i really can't stand that :D

For me, I like a room that feels warm and cozy. Makes it feel more lived in and friendly. I'm all for clean and minimal in my studio to keep me from getting distracted, but in a place I'd like to relax or sleep, warm clutter makes me happy.

as ternlef asked in another thread, some stuff i've been doing with my place:

it's an apartment that i've been working on for the past year whenever i can. originally divided into several small rooms, i knocked everything through and stripped as much back as i could. the walls extended into the floor, so wherever they were removed they left floor channels which you can see.

floor was patchy fake wood, so i pulled it up and just sanded and painted what's underneath (wasn't stable enough to use alone) and the kitchen wasn't functional - so i built a simple one from steel plate (that's equally incomplete).

originally posted this in 'personal aesthetics', since everything was chosen to be honest with material and in the same approach as dressing. the analogy is there [skin, 2nd skin and 3rd skin]

anyway there's a lot of work left, and i'm not living at the place at the moment so can't get recent photos. some of these are from a while back.
